FAA deal: Workers to return to work

The U.S. Congress is agreeing to a temporary settlement which will allow 4,000 aviation workers and tens of thousands of construction workers to return to work at approximately 400 of the nation’s airlines.  The U.S. House has already passed the measure, and the U.S. Senate is scheduled to pass the measure Friday morning.

The issue began on July 22, 2011 when Congress could not agree on funding of the Federal Aviation Administration.  The disagreement caused construction at hundreds of airports to stop which involved approximately 70,000 jobs as well as the about 4,000 other FAA jobs being stopped.
